New York, NY – House Democratic Caucus Chair and Congressman Hakeem Jeffries (D-Brooklyn) and Congresswoman Yvette Clarke (D-Brooklyn) endorsed Antonio Delgado for Lieutenant Governor of New York today.

“Receiving the support of such eminent Brooklyn leaders is an incredible honor,” said Lieutenant Governor Antonio Delgado. “Congresswoman Clarke and Congressman Jeffries know what it means to stand up for your constituents; to serve with humility and determination. In a time when the middle class is struggling to recover from the pandemic, I’m driven by their example to deliver meaningful change for New Yorkers.”

The endorsement comes on the heels of Delgado’s strong debate performance where he outlined his commitment to public service.

“Working with Lieutenant Governor Delgado in Congress, I was struck by his tenacity towards passing legislation and funding that directly affected the lives of his constituents,” said Chairman Jeffries. “He is driven by a will to serve others, and I’m confident that he is the best choice for Lieutenant Governor to bring people together and deliver results.”

“While serving alongside Lieutenant Governor Antonio Delgado in Congress I saw first hand his commitment and dedication to his constituents," said Congresswoman Yvette D. Clarke. “He is a principled leader who is committed to advancing policies that protect and empower working families and I am proud to endorse his candidacy.”

Delgado for New York is running a multi-million dollar advertising campaign showing New Yorkers about his ability to connect with people and his commitment to the values he holds most important: Connect, Game Changer, and Valores, a spanish language ad.

Antonio Delgado was sworn in as the 65th Lt. Governor of New York on Wednesday, May 25th. The remarks from his swearing in are available here.
