Trumpocalypse Now: The GOP Nominee-to-be Translates WhiteSpeak

[The Toby Rogers Report]

“Make America great again” Donald Trump’s 2016 campaign slogan, harking back to a better time in America’s mythological past, parallels other dictatorial leaders that rose and fell, destroying almost everything in their wake.

It is this blatant, cynical falsity that is the foundation of everything else that demagogues will eventually leave in ruins. As any good historian will tell you, there is no such thing as the “good old days.”

The media have been asking itself on air for months, “what makes Donald Trump so popular?” Their own Kardashian like hype aside- which helps considerably- there are two factors fueling the Trumpocalypse.

But one of them, economic-wage stagnation, is really just a proxy for the other, White Supremacy.

Of course if Trump ever got elected, his racial scapegoating won’t end after he slathers the White House in brass. It will become his go-to straw man every time America’s sharp decline becomes more and more evident under his rule.

All dictators use that strategy.

That’s what this presidential election is all about; race.

The media use code words for Whiteness all the time: “middle America,” “evangelicals,” “soccer moms.”

Trump, on the other hand uses much more blatant language, saying Mexicans are rapists, advocating a total ban on Muslims entering the US, and wanting to build a wall all across the borders with Texas, New Mexico, Arizona and California.

The fact that any Trump supporter actually believes that last false promise demonstrates just how susceptible people are to lying, something Trump has mastered.  The other day he denied that the voice heard of Trump himself pretending to be Trump’s own spokesperson was his.

Just ask any Trump University graduate how the Donald ran his own school into the ground. The rise and fall of TU just might become the perfect template as to what will happen if Trump ever assumes the presidency. Only in our case the calamity he causes won’t be cured by a tuition refund.

The majority of Trump’s appeal is all about race. That something has been “taken” from White people and that they are entitled to something; and that America stopped being “great” as it became more diverse, culturally and recently, politically.

That a diverse America, a more tolerant America is somehow spoiled if Whiteness does not dominate as it did in the past — that’s the Trump message.

That is what truly animates the Trump campaign; and it is this ugly aspect of Trump 2016 the media is most afraid to talk about.

Trump’s zombies will never stop supporting him, even as his lies become more ridiculous. Take his big lie when he vowed to fund his campaign entirely with his deliberately inflated wealth. That was the main reason many Trump supporters signed on at first; that pledge is now of course is totally out the window.

So Trump’s front runner status has nothing to do with what Trump says or promises. Everybody knows Trump’s agenda is as real as professional wrestling. At the center of Trump and his legion of doom’s mandala is White supremacy, coupled with fascist, authoritarian impulses.

Just ask Jeb Bush who recently highlighted Trump’’s Cinco de Mayo tweet. ““First, not all Hispanics are Mexican. Secondly, not all Hispanics eat tacos. Thirdly, showing your sensitivity by eating an American dish is the most insensitive thing you can do. Fourthly, to say this, next to all things he already said, is a further insult. It’’s like eating a watermelon and saying ‘‘I love African-Americans,'”’” Bush said.

While conventional wisdom indicates that Trump is going to lose in November and lose badly, nothing has been conventional regarding the 2016 presidential election.

What’s more, as Bernie supporters throw chairs in Las Vegas, it is becoming more clear that the Democrats need to unify and unify fast. They need to organize the biggest Convention protest possible in Cleveland this July.

Trump and his zombie army will not accept defeat at the polls; no true dictator ever does.

The debates won’t alter the race. How does Hillary debate crazy? Ever try to do that at an extended family Thanksgiving? No matter how bad Trump performs at these debates the PR-professionals will just spin it as Trump “being authentic.”

The Democratic party needs some old Clinton mantras like “its the economy, stupid.”

But in 2016 it should be: “Unite and fight,” to destroy Trump.
