The narcissistic ignoramus in the White House has escalated his feud with Dr. Anthony Fauci the infectious diseases specialist. Fauci warns against a rush to reopen the U.S. economy due to the risk of a flareup in COVID-19 infections. He also fears that the risk the disease poses to children may have been underestimated.

Trump thinks of nothing but his reelection in November. He fears that with official unemployment at about 18% his prospects are doomed. It’s all about Donald Trump and the nation be damned.

Trump’s attacks started after Fauci testified to a Senate panel this week remotely. This is part of what Fauci said: “I think we better be careful, if we are not cavalier, in thinking that children are completely immune to the deleterious effects.” He also said: “You’re right in the numbers that children in general do much, much better than adults and the elderly and particularly those with underlying conditions. But I am very careful, and hopefully humble in knowing that I don’t know everything about this disease. And that’s why I’m very reserved in making broad predictions.”

This is what the man who called COVID-19 the Democrats “new hoax” during a campaign rally said about Fauci’s testimony. “To me it’s not an acceptable answer, especially when it comes to schools.” He accused Fauci of wanting to “play all sides of the equation.”

What about potential risks to students, now that New York, the nation’s epicenter of COVID-19 is closely examing an inflammatory syndrome that afflicts children and could be related to the virus? This is what Trump, the “compassionate” Commander in Chief said: “But you can be driving to school and some bad things can happen, too.”

Competent governors and parents should listen to medical experts and base any decisions about reopening schools on science and not the words of a desperate heartless narcissist who is only thinking about his relection.

As the pandemic was about to flare up, Trump said it was “one person from China” and now that 1,430,348 have been infected and 85,197 have died he says, well an accident could happen on your way to school.

Children must be protected from this dangerous wreck in the White House.
