Dr. Frances Cress Welsing who wrote and lectured about White Supremacy and whose enduring contribution is "The Isis Papers: The Keys to the Colors" (1991), has died.

She had suffered a stroke towards the end of the week, remained in a coma and then passed away Saturday.

A trained psychiatrist, she appeared in numerous debates, including against eugenicist, and always seemed to end up with the upper hand; her delivery were always calm, sharp, and analytic.

She was 80 years old.

She taught that White supremacy was all pervasive and dominated all aspects of U.S. society and culture with White youth taught from an early age that they are superior to Blacks in every arena of life.

Welsing believed the only way people of African descent can effectively combat White Supremacy was by first understanding how it works. She argued that White Supremacy attacked Black people primary in nine areas of major activities and interactions, which are: politics, religion, economics, education, labor, law, entertainment, war, and sex.

Both unconsciously, and consciously, White Supremacy and the aggressive hostile actions towards Black people that emanate from it are meant to ensure the genetic survival of Whites.

Welsing has defined White Supremacy, or Apartheid, as follows: "Racism (white supremacy) is the local and global power system and dynamic, structure, maintained by persons who classify themselves as white, whether consciously or subconsciously determined; which consists of patterns of perception, logic, symbol formation, thought, speech, action, and emotional response, as conducted, simultaneously in all areas of people activity (economics, education, entertainment, labor, law, politics, religion, sex, and war); for the ultimate purpose of white genetic survival and to prevent white genetic annihilation on planet Earth - a planet upon which the vast and overwhelming majority of people are classified as non-white (black, brown, red and yellow) by white-skinned people, and all of the non-white people are genetically dominant (in terms of skin coloration) compared to the genetic recessive white-skinned people."

Born in Chicago on March 18, 1935, she went to Antioch (B.S. 1957) before Howard University College of Medicine where she earned her M.D. in 1962.

Welsing's father Henry N. Cress was also a medical doctor and her mother, Ida Mae Griffen, a teacher.

Dr. Welsing taught at Howard as assistant professor of pediatrics for some years until 1975 when her contract wasn't renewed as her work on White supremacy started getting widely known. She had published the “Cress Theory of Color-Confrontation and Racism” in 1970.

Welsing taught that White people resulted from genetic mutation of albinism. She faced backlash when she argued that homosexuality in the Black community was introduced as a scheme to cause the decline of Black people.
