Support Treatment And Freedom For Mumia Abu-Jamal

Abuu

Mumia’s lawyers Bret Grote –Abolitionist Law Center– and co-counsel Robert Boyle are preparing to file a preliminary injunction to demand an immediate court hearing and medical treatment.

Meanwhile, Mumia has been able to call into Prison Radio and see visitors this week. He seems stable. His independent consulting physicians, while being able to review his medical records and visit him in the visiting room, are still being denied the ability to conduct an independent medical exam.

In Germany and France, organizers have sent out over 80,000 postcards for Mumia demanding his treatment and freedom.

And in a great act of solidarity, the National Writers Union has called for the immediate treatment and release of Mumia.

We’re 30% To Our Goal.

In just 7 days, over 220 people have rose up to get Mumia immediate Hepatitis C treatment. Together, we have already raised 30% of our goal.

If every single person who gave asks just one person to do the same, we would be half way to our goal right now.

Prisoners Across Pennsylvania

Being Denied Hepatitis C Treatment.

53,000 people are currently incarcerated in the state of Pennsylvania alone, and a whopping 20% of those prisoners have Hepatitis C.

And they are all being denied treatment.

A class-action lawsuit was filed on June 12th, 2015 to combat the prisons’ systematic denial of necessary medical care for prisoners diagnosed with Hepatitis C viral load.

Under any standard, Mumia is at the highest priority and likelihood of being treated given the severity of his condition. Standing with Mumia paves the way for thousands of prisoners in Pennsylvania who have Hep C to recieve treatment.
