The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today welcomed a resolution introduced by Representative Jamaal Bowman (D-NY) condemning the Buffalo massacre and the white supremacist Great Replacement myth which inspired its perpetrator.
Wendesday, CAIR Government Affairs Director Robert McCaw attended a press conference announcing the resolution.
The resolution defines the Great Replacement theory as a “White supremacist conspiracy theory that has been used to falsely justify racially motivated, violent acts of terrorism domestically and internationally.” It also condemns the Buffalo shooting, honors the victims and affirms the House’s “commitment to combating White supremacy, hatred, and racial injustice.” The resolution passed the House as part of a rule setting up a vote on gun reforms. The vote on the rule was 218-205.

This white supremacist propaganda must be condemned by our nation’s elected officials.”
