Starting on Saturday, October 21, and Sunday October 22, 2017, the Committee to Eliminate Media Offensive to African People (CEMOTAP) will conduct free 4-week courses in for High School Students in Computer Science with a focus on Construction and Repair. There will be two-sections, one held in Queens (the one that starts on October 21) and the other in Harlem (the one that starts on October 22).
The course will be conducted by Brother George Johnson a computer expert and facilitated by Dr. James McIntosh Co-chair CEMOTAP.
This is a hands-on method. Each student gets to build his or or her own fully functioning personal computer out of salvaged or discarded computer components, that have been purchased by the Board for the Education of People of African Ancestry (BEPAA). Students will be able to take their computers home upon successful graduation from the course.
Students will also be taught the functions of various components of the computer and how to troubleshoot common computer problems from the simple to the complex. There is also some content to familiarize the student with the factual contributions of African People to the computer sciences.
Admission is free. Only 10 highly-motivated students will be accepted into the class.

The 4-week sessions start promptly at 10AM to 2PM.
