MODEL OF THE DAY

Where She’s From:
Rachelle Neal, whose Zodiac sign is Cancer, was born and raised in Eden, North Carolina.

“The most important thing I learned from my parents, Elretha Perkins and Semmie Neal, is that I choose my own destiny. They provided me with all the tools I need and my success depends on how I apply them to my life,” she tells The Black Star News.

Rachelle is a student at North Carolina A&T State University and graduates in 2009.

“I am pursuing a degree in Business Management. I first began my career at an early age performing around my community as well as other cities—singing, playing the piano, playing the flute, and dancing,” she says. “Later on, I began to compete in competitions and displayed my talents to the world. At the age of 13, I added modeling, participating in more pageants and added acting to my plate.”

Where She’s At:
“I consider my career to be at a stage of satisfaction because I am pursuing my dreams as well as continuing to go to school while still maintaining an 3.8 g.p.a along with being on the Dean’s list, The Honors Society, and also dancing with the Golden Delights,” she adds.

This busy beautiful scholar has already scored several achievements. “I am one of Bronner Brother’s new Advertisement Models. I have portrayed characters in plays as well as commercials such as 1-800- Flowers. Currently I am working on a sketch comedy show, The Black Box, which is based out of Atlanta, Georgia.”

“The business called entertainment is very crooked,” Rachelle warns. “Having beauty and brains let people know that you will not be taken advantage of. I will know how to check behind my accountant to view the accuracy of my accounts as well as business transactions. Anyone can be beautiful and there are many beautiful people in this world. It takes beauty on the inside and out. Being beautiful doesn’t show you how to work in corporate American nor express yourself as an individual. As they say beauty comes a dime a dozen, but one must know what makes them unique.”

Where She’s Heading:
“I see myself going to the top of my ladder,” Rachelle notes. “I will overcome the obstacles that are thrown my way and with God’s strength I will redeem myself and continue on my struggle. I strive everyday to be a better human being as well as a better friend to others. You only live life once—enjoy it while you’re here but remember when God calls you, it’s you alone that determines your destiny. I am aspiring to become an actress, as well as a professional singer and a model. I like to call myself an entertainer.”

So how does Rachelle prepare to step out? “I can’t tell everyone my secrets, but right now I love Giorgio Monti perfume, Shiny. My closet also includes: Sperry’s, High heels, and Pumas.”

Rachelle’s Words Of Wisdom:
“Live everyday like it’s your last—for you never know what God has in store for you. Excellence can be obtained if you: care more than others think is wise, risk more than others think is safe, dream more than others think is practical, expect more than others think is possible.”

Rachelle’s Secrets Of Success: “Participating in Extra activities while growing up kept me away from negativity and instilled good moral behavior. Without a supportive and loving family, I would not be where I am today. Surround yourself around positive people who have the same drive as you do and you are sure to achieve your dreams.”
