Nia Fairweather's FOUR SEASONS has just won a couple of awards at the Cannes Film Festival.

Diversity in Cannes, the global film movement created by Yolanda Brinkley to promote inclusion at the Cannes Film Festival, announced the winners of the 2020 Short Film Showcase, via a virtual awards ceremony.

The event, originally scheduled for May 2020, was postponed as a result of the COVID-19 global pandemic. Award-winning actress Nia Fairweather’s FOUR SEASONS won awards for ‘Director’s Choice’ and ‘Best Score,’ as well as a nomination for ‘Best Writing’. Previously, FOUR SEASONS was awarded the ‘Audience Choice Award’ at the 2020 Chicago Southland International Film Festival, and nominated for ‘Best Narrative’ short film at the 2020 Pan African Film Festival.

FOUR SEASONS follows Charisse (Nia Fairweather) and Braxton (David J. Cork) as they navigate the high and low tides of their relationship. It is a peek into what happens when expectations and things left unsaid collide. Will they be able to ride the seasons of change or be crushed by them? Only time will tell!

“The first international festival I attended as an actress was with a film THE ROE EFFECT at Cannes Festival,” said Nia. “10 years later, here I am as the Writer-Producer-Lead Actress of FOUR SEASONS. I am now steeped in my craft, fortified by things I’ve learned along the way and in gratitude for the mystic way my journey brought me back to the first film community that embraced my work, internationally.”
