New Telemundo documentary explores impact Trump Administration has had on Latino community.

Telemundo announced the broadcast of “Mr. Trump, disculpe las molestias” (“Mr. Trump, pardon the interruption”), a documentary directed by acclaimed Spanish journalist Jordi Évole on Sunday, September 29 at 7 PM/ 6 C.

In “Mr. Trump, disculpe las molestias,” Évole interviews community members, celebrities and prominent figures across the country tapping into their hopes, beliefs and contradictions, while gauging the Latino community’s wide-ranging perceptions about the Trump administration.

“With this special, Telemundo develops a new standard in Spanish-language journalism. The documentary analyzes the impact the Trump presidency has had on the Latino community, led by Jordi Évole, one of the most relevant and influential Spanish-speaking journalists,” said Luis Fernández, Executive Vice President of Noticias Telemundo.

“Coming to the United States and being able to collaborate with Telemundo is a dream come true. We hope we can live up to the standards Latinos deserve,” said Évole.

In “Mr. Trump, disculpe las molestias,” Évole visits cities around the U.S., including El Paso, Miami, Tucson and Washington, D.C., plus the city of Juarez on the Mexican/US border. Along the way, journalists, elected officials and celebrities share the screen with local Latino community residents, to offer a first-hand testimony of their experiences under the current administration.

The documentary follows the format of Évole’s hit show on Spanish television, “Salvados,” which, this last year, has featured appearances by top newsmakers such as Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro, who spoke with Évole in the midst of the ongoing crisis in that country; and Pope Francis, who sat down for one of the very few interviews he has granted.

“Mr. Trump, disculpe las molestias” represents an opportunity for Évole to reach a new audience with his unique approach to analyzing current events. The program is a production by Producciones del Barrio.
