Under the musical direction of jazz pianist and composer Geri Allen, this Harlem Jazz Shrines Festival concert pays homage to the great women singers and instrumentalists who have graced the Apollo stage.



Geri Allen & Friends is staged by S. Epatha Merkerson,celebrated actress and director/filmmaker, through the words and historical narrative of acclaimed author Farah Jasmine Griffin. DJ Val Jeanty will create the musical backdrop.



This performance will also feature: Dianne Reeves, The Timeline Tap Quartet, Lizz Wright, Terri Lyne Carrington, Tia Fuller, the vocal ensemble Afro Blue,actress Karen Malina White and guitarist Marvin Sewell.
