Trudii Harrison: ‘Black Voice’

Reggae singer Trudii Harrison has just released a visual for the song ‘Black Voice.’

The song is a clear critique of the political police violence that Black people face. Images from the protests against police violence—in the wake of the police murder of George Floyd—can be seen throughout the video. The singer also issues a call for Black people to continue fighting police violence and racism.

On a Facebook posting the singer is described this way: “Trudii Harrison is a Jamaican singer and songrwriter who hails from Browns Town in the parish of St. Ann. She began singing in competitions as a child, and later pursued her love of music as a cabaret performer at hotels on Jamaica’s North Coast. In 2020 she was signed to CKM Infinity Studios owned and operated by California based Trinidadian musician and producer Cliff Manswell.”
