Chyna Layne -who appeared as the high spirited Jamaican student ‘Rhonda Johnson’ opposite Gabourey Sidibe and Mo’nique in Lee Daniels’ Oscar winning film Precious -will be guest of honor at the World Premiere screening of her new feature film All Screwed Up, this Sunday, October 31.The screening takes place at the Lafayette Theater in Suffern, Rockland County and begins at 11:30 am.

In All Screwed Up, Layne – whose additional screen credits include HBO’s Life Support with Queen Latifah and Cadillac Records with Beyonce and Jeffrey Wright- plays the female lead role of Teenisha Flowers, a teenager with Attention Deficit Disorder and a passion for exotic insects.

When a mystical African bug she buys  on the internet bites both her and her neighbor- a popular high school jock named Pete ( Jake Waldman)- they mysteriously switch personalities, and  discover, quite hilariously, what it means to literally live in someone else’s shoes.

Executive Produced by Rockland County native Bud Rebel and Directed by Neil Stephens, the teen comedy has enjoyed exceptional success on the film festival circuit during the past year, winning several awards including Best Actor for Jake Waldman at The Los Angeles Movie Festival this past summer.

The release of All Screwed Up is also expected to expose the talents of Ms. Layne to an even wider audience, a prospect which is especially exciting for ASU Executive Producer and Screenwriter Rebel.

“We knew Chyna was something special from the very moment she auditioned for us for this film,” he says, “And so the success that she has had since then –especially as part of the ensemble cast of Precious, comes as no surprise to us. But in All Screwed Up she has her first lead role- where she actually drives the story, along with Jake. Audiences will see her in a brand new light as a gifted and truly versatile leading lady on her way to major things. We are therefore especially delighted that she can join us this Sunday.”

Layne, born in Jamaica Queens to a Jamaican father and Filipino mother, currently has two other films in post production for future release- We Are Family and Left Unsaid.

Tickets to the screening of All Screwed Up are available on the film’s website at www.allscrewedupthemovie.com.
