On Wednesday, Public Advocate Jumaane D. Williams will join a cast including Cynthia Nixon, Daphne Rubin-Vega, Chinasa Ogbuagu, Chinaza Uche, and Marjolaine Goldsmith for a performance of The King Lear Project with Theater of War Productions.

The performance will take place Wednesday, October 2, starting at 6:30 PM, at the Edie Windsor SAGE Center at 305 7th Avenue, 15th Fl, New York, NY.

The King Lear Project presents streamlined readings of scenes from Shakespeare's King Lear to engage diverse audiences-including older adults, caregivers, and family members-in open, healing, constructive, discussions about the challenges of aging, dementia, and caring for friends and loved ones.

The Public Advocate has performed with Theater of War across the city over several years, in reimagined versions of ancient plays designed to ignite a community conversation around issues such as gun violence, policing, veterans and mental health.
