“Don’t relax. The war is on. We should remove dictatorship and rule by the gun from our beloved country and reclaim it. The year 2019 is the year of actions. We want to use 2019 to get our country back in our hands”

“Don’t allow yourselves to be confused by Mr. Museveni. There is evidence that he is in office wrongly, illegally and must therefore get out. Change will come to Uganda at all costs and we shall never give up until we get change no matter what happens”

GULU-UGANDA: The four-time presidential contender in Ugandan politics, Dr. Kizza Besigye, has called on Ugandans not to relax but to rally behind his Peoples’ Government to remove  the dictator from ever leading the country again once Dictator Yoweri Museveni is removed from the leadership in Uganda . He says the year 2019 should be used by Ugandans to get the country back into their hands.

“Don’t relax. The war is on. We should remove dictatorship and rule by the gun from our beloved country and reclaim it. The year 2019 is the year of actions. We want to use 2019 to get our country back in our hands”, says Dr. Besigye.

He made this remarks on Saturday, March 9, 2019 while speaking as Chief Guest at the Thanksgiving prayers of the Leader of Opposition in Uganda’s Parliament, Ms. Betty Aol Ocan, from Kaunda grounds in Gulu City.

Dr. Besigye appealed to Ugandans not to allow dictator Museveni to confuse them with the current infrastructural developments going on in the country while he is looting our natural resources at the same time because he knows he is leading the country illegally without any mandate.

“Don’t allow yourselves to be confused by Mr. Museveni. There is evidence that he is in office wrongly, illegally and must therefore get out. Change will come to Uganda at all costs and we shall never give up until we get change no matter what happens” reiterated the retired army Colonel, whom many call the ‘Peoples’ President’ and many also describe as a ‘thorn in Museveni’s toe’

He says after successfully establishing the Peoples’ Government early this year, his next move is to establish regional assemblies throughout the country and later on the district assemblies before mobilizing these bodies to march to Kampala to establish the ‘Peoples’ Government’ before the year ends.

Dr. Besigye reminded Ugandans that there is no difference between the British colonial masters and Museveni’s administration because they both built infrastructures, not to develop the country, but to create smooth means of transporting their looted natural resources (wealth) to international markets.

“The British made roads and built railways to take our wealth to Britain but not to develop our country. They built the Owen Falls Dam to smelt copper and used the railways to transport the smelted copper to their country through Mombasa port in neighboring Kenya cheaply”, says Dr. Besigye.

He says Mr. Museveni is currently investing heavily in infrastructural projects such as road network in Acholi sub-region so as to take the wealth of Acholi with the aim of leaving the people of Acholi poorer.

He gave the example of the land taken from the people and given to foreign investors to enable them build sugar factories and grow sugarcane, should have been given to the local community through cooperative movements instead of giving the land to foreign investors to exploit our people.

“He is building the roads in Acholi to take the wealth of your region so as to leave the Acholi people poorer. They want you to be workers in their factories instead of you owning the factories through cooperatives”, Dr. Besigye reminded the people.

He says the ‘Peoples’ Government’, which he is leading , is fighting for all Ugandans to enable them have quality healthcare and education for all children; saying currently the current health and education sectors do not promote quality lives since most children are stunted with high mortality rates and rotten education system.

“If you have no good education and you are not healthy, then the good roads are not for you”, says Dr. Besigye.

He says he will soon open up enquiry into the bribery case where a Hong Kong national, Mr. Patrick Ho Chi-ping is jailed in a United States of American Federal Court for bribing Mr. Museveni and his Foreign Affairs minister Mr. Sam Kutesa with the sum of US$500,000 each on behalf of a Chinese Company.

“He has got a lot more problem than he can bite. Recently a Hong Kong national, Mr. Patrick Ho was jailed in a USA court for bribing Mr. Museveni and Mr. Sam Kutesa. We are soon launching an enquiry into the bribery case. We are telling him as a man who accepts bribes to leave our seat. He is sitting on the chair with one buttock’ says the Colonel.

The chairperson of Acholi Religious Leaders’ Peace Initiative (ARLPI), who is also the retried Anglican Bishop of Northern Uganda, Bishop Nelson Onono-Onweng, appealed to leaders of the opposition to fight to bring to book, the untouchables who are destroying the once prosperous country.

“We thank God for enabling you ascend to the high office in our parliament. A bitch (female dog) can even catch wild game. God has put you there to catch the untouchables in our land. What policy is there to provide equal opportunities to all Ugandans?”  Says the bishop.
