February 21st marks the 48th commemoration of the assassination of Malcolm X and in  the spirit of Malcolm's relentless struggle for Pan African unity, the December 12th Movement will hold an international forum “Resist the Rise of Imperialism in Africa and Wars of Recolonization.”

The forum will be held at 6:00 PM at the historic Mt. Olivet Baptist Church located on 120th Street and Malcolm X Blvd in Harlem and many critical issues will be on the agenda for discussion:
Western imperialism is on the march in Africa. US troops have penetrated and set up a massive base in Djibouti; NATO's deadly forces left Libya in chaos; French forces devastated Cote d'Ivoire; The continued theft of Haiti's wealth must end;
Economic sanctions in Zimbabwe; The destabilization of the Congo; Military incursions in Mali; and, the persistent racism and human rights abuse against Africans in the United States.

All these issues demand a Pan African resolution. The Special International Guest Speaker of the evening is Baffour Ankomah, Editor of The New African.

The New African, an internationally distributed magazine, is well respected Pan African publication. Mr. Ankomah is also a distinguished speaker on the crisis facing Africa and the African
Diaspora today. “Self-determination and unity of action is the way forward for African people. We have been taken off the agenda,” explained Viola Plummer, chair of the December 12th International Secretariat.

“Pan African resistance has to be put into action. The western economies are failing and they are prepared to recolonize our people and nations to further exploit our wealth. We must be prepared to be self reliant as a people and fight for independent development.”
