With the New Year fast approaching us, many people are preparing resolutions in hopes of strengthening their personal relationships with the Creator, while improving their states of health, and overall quality of life. Step 5 – Let it go: If you have been harboring ill feelings of anger, regret or resentment over a situation that has negatively impacted your life, let it go. Write down whatever has been troubling you on a piece of paper and read it out loud, then tear it up and throw it away. Holding on to feelings of anger, regret or resentment can manifest itself in your life as diseases such as, high blood pressure, diabetes, cancer and many other illnesses. The best thing to do when you are feeling these negative emotions is to accept what you can’t change, focus on changing what you can and leave the outcome up to the universe to work out for you.

Step 4 – Relax: Whether you choose Yoga, Tai Chi, Pilates, listening to Jazz music, a day at the spa or just simply sitting in a quiet room and meditating. Relaxation is a major key to creating a new and healthier you. Reading, writing, crocheting, gardening and walking are also good activities that help relax your mind, body and soul in an aid to helping you cope with the daily stresses of life.

Step 3 – Volunteer: It could be at your Church, the Salvation Army; the Elementary School across the street, the Senior Citizen center on the corner or your neighborhood Soup Kitchen. Whatever place you choose to dedicate your time to service, volunteering can help boost your morale, while you add on to the lives of the less fortunate and those in need. Step 2 – Diet & Exercise: One in four Americans is obese, according to a recent study published by the Center for Disease Control (CDC). Adopting a proper, well balanced diet and a proper exercise regimen can help you accomplish and maintain a healthier body, while helping to reduce the risk of Heart Disease, Cancer, Diabetes and other life threatening ailments. Walking a mile a day, taking an aerobics class at your local gym, cutting back on the junk food, carbohydrates and drinking plenty of water can all help you maintain a well balanced, healthy lifestyle.

Step 1 – Prayer: No matter what name you call the Divine, be it God, Allah, Yahweh, Universe or Source. The name that you call the Creator doesn’t matter much. What does matter is that you do in fact call him. Prayer is the most important key to creating & maintaining a new & healthier you. Dedicate yourself to developing a personal, intimate relationship with the Creator. Reading the Holy Bible, the Holy Quran, the Torah, the Vedas or your spiritual text of choice, can help you live a much better, fulfilling, healthier, happier & overall prosperous life.
