Texas Congresswoman Eddie Bernice Johnson announced yesterday that the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services (HHS) has awarded a grant totaling $1,397,132 to the Martin Luther King, Jr. Family Clinic.

“I am proud to announce that the Martin Luther King, Jr. Family Clinic has received this critical funding that will continue to help support thousands of Dallas-Ft. Worth families with various health services and programs,” said Congresswoman Johnson.

The Martin Luther King, Jr. Family Clinic in Dallas, Texas, is a community health center. The clinic operates on a sliding scale, which means it may not be free depending on your income. However, if you can show financial hardship you may receive free service, or service at a reduced price.

This health center covers services such as: checkups, treatment,  immunizations and prescription medicine and mental and substance abuse. Pregnancy care and child care are also provided when applicable.
