Forum to provide insight on how minority and women-owned tech companies can grow and sustain their businesses
On Friday, May 19, the New York City Mayor’s Office of Minority and Women-owned Business Enterprises (M/WBEs), NYC Department of Small Business Services (SBS), Mayor’s Office of Tech + Innovation, and New York State Office of the Attorney General and New York State Office of General Services will host a forum for tech and software companies at the Urban Tech Hub at Grand Central Tech.
Tech and software firms will have an opportunity to network with City officials to share best practices on how to grow and sustain their businesses, discuss contracting opportunities and detail the benefits of becoming a City-certified M/WBE. City officials also will outline the ways in which the de Blasio Administration will meet its aggressive goals that include awarding $16 billion in contracts to M/WBEs by 2025; increasing the number of City-certified firms to 9,000 by 2019; and awarding 30 percent of the value of City contracts to M/WBEs by 2021.
