War Lies Exposed

For if President Clinton was impeached for lying about a private sexual matter, then why shouldn’t this “president and his cronies be charged for crimes against humanity? The report also noted that “Saddam Hussein was distrustful of Al-Qaeda and viewed Islamic extremists as a threat to his regime

(Bush & Co. manipulated the nation’s devastating grief over 9/11 to launch their war-for-oil Iraq invasion).

Journalist I.F Stone used to say that “all governments lie. Stone’s comments were made amidst the backdrop of the Vietnam War and the lies told by Richard Nixon. But history will surely record this current president’s lies as having a more destructive impact worldwide.

A few days ago, members of the Senate Intelligence Select Committee admitted, in a new report, that there was no link between Saddam to 9-11, Al-Qaeda or slain “terrorist leader Abu Musab al-Zarqawi.  “Today’s reports show that the administration’s repeated allegations of a past, present and future relationship between Al-Qaeda and Iraq were wrong and intended to exploit the deep sense of insecurity among Americans in the immediate aftermath of the September 11th attacks, stated Democratic Senator Jay Rockefeller.  Senator Carl Levine added that the report was “a devastating indictment of the Bush-Cheney administration’s unrelenting misleading and deceptive attempts to convince the American people that Saddam Hussein was linked to Al-Qaeda. In other words this administration lied to the American people.

In American jurisprudence when someone lies under oath they can be charged with perjury. So, the question is now that the proof is out in the open for all to see that this scoundrel of a “president lied, to pursue oil profits sacrificing thousands of lives to do so, will the American people hold him accountable for his bloody actions? For if President Clinton was impeached for lying about a private sexual matter, then why shouldn’t this “president and his cronies be charged for crimes against humanity?

The report also noted that “Saddam Hussein was distrustful of Al-Qaeda and viewed Islamic extremists as a threat to his regime, refusing all requests from Al-Qaeda to provide material or operational support. Moreover, the Senate Intelligence Select Committee also found that “postwar information indicates that Saddam Hussein attempted unsuccessfully to locate and capture Zarqawi.

The report indicated that Iraq’s nuclear program ended in 1991 and declined steadily thereafter. But this administration lied to the nation by stating that the program had been restarted, and repeatedly reminded the American people that the prospect of a mushroom cloud was very likely.

And now with the upcoming election the administration is again playing the fear card. Donald Rumsfeld has tried to compare the so-called war on terror to the Nazis. But the time has come for the American people to say no more lies. The time has come for drawing up articles of impeachment.
