(Manhattan is the venue of the next OutsourceWorld conference)

Taking place this October 17-18, the OutsourceWorld conference and exhibition will be held at the Metropolitan Pavilion in Manhattan, NY. The event will be the largest OutsourceWorld to date with over 30,000 square feet of exhibition space and an entire floor level dedicated to conference sessions.

The themes for this year’s program are “The Maturing of the Global Delivery Model” and “Managing Outsourcing Relationships - Building Sustainable Value.” New this year, in addition to speakers and participants from the Global 1000, there will be a special emphasis on small- to medium-sized business.

“The popular perception is Outsourcing is only for the largest companies.  More and more we are seeing small and midsized business get into the game. We are the only outsourcing event that is implementing a focus on these types of companies,” explains David Etzler, chief executive officer of OutsourceWorld. “It is our belief that these will be the fastest-growing markets for outsourcing services in the next 5-10 years. It will get very interesting as these other markets aggressively embrace outsourcing and realize the benefits that the largest companies have been experiencing over the last several years.”

Scheduled to exhibit are companies from locations all over the world including: China, Romania, Ukraine, Hungary, Bulgaria, India, Pakistan, Egypt, Russia, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Mexico, Canada, and others. “There is no better opportunity for delegates to evaluate multiple international outsourcing service providers in one room,” stated Andrew Forester, OutsourceWorld’s director of sales. This year’s conference program is being chaired by Dr. Wendell Jones, a recognized thought-leader in the outsourcing industry and coauthor of “Outsourcing Information Technology Systems and Services” (Prentice Hall, 1997).

Dr. Jones is also a prolific speaker, an advisor to Global Equations LLC (an offshore advisory firm) and has over 30 years management experience in industries such as Securities, Aerospace and Information Technology, where he has managed worldwide outsourced delivery projects with teams of over 2,400 professionals.

The lineup of speakers includes such names as Ravi Aron, professor at the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and expert on outsourcing, and Bob Schwartz, chief information officer of Panasonic, Inc. Others include Claude Morais, the former head of global IT outsourcing for General Motors and Coca Cola. “As event organizers, we take a very non traditional approach. We consider our exhibitors, sponsors and delegates long term customers,” stated Etzler. “Our relationship extends beyond the two days they spend at our event. Our goals are very clear; to provide the most up to date and useful content while connecting exhibitors, sponsors and attendees.”
