Today there will be a march and rally against the kind of police brutality captured above in the Bronx.

Today, local and national activists, elected officials and Bronx community members will gather for a march and rally for the safety and sanctity of Black life.

Today’s march will take place at Fordham Road & Grand Concourse in the Bronx and starts at 1:00 pm.

Participants of the march will include:

  • NY State Assemblyman Michael Blake
  • Former NY State Senator Ruben Diaz
  • NY City Councilwoman Vanessa Gibson
  • Tamika Mallory
  • Mysonne “the General” Linen
  • Until Freedom
  • Justice League NYC
  • Raising Kingz and more

On the heels of a massive mobilization in Manhattan yesterday, which drew nearly 30,000 people, organizers are holding another mobilization to engage local Bronxites in their own neighborhood.

“The Bronx is a borough that is still predominantly Black and Brown, and our communities are affected by both over-policing and the pressure of gentrification,” said Mysonne “the General” Linen, co-founder of Until Freedom, hip hop artist and activist from the Highbridge neighborhood.

“We are marching to show our solidarity as a borough, for the right of people who are born and raised here to be free from police violence and to have the economic and community support that we need to thrive.”
