The Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce held the 2007 Brooklyn Building Awards last night at Stage 6 at Steiner Studios. The event, in its seventh year, honored Joshua Muss, principal of Muss Development, LLC and Andrew Kimball, president & CEO of the Brooklyn Navy Yard Development Corporation for their work and celebrated 15 recently completed construction projects. “These projects, our honorees and the people present at this evening’s event represent the leading edge of Brooklyn’s economic renaissance,” said Brooklyn Chamber Interim President and Chief Operating Officer Mark M. Kessler. “This year’s submissions represent the diversity, creativity and business savvy that are a major part of Brooklyn’s economy and culture.”
“The Building Brooklyn Awards emphasizes the design excellence that people have come to expect from Brooklyn. The intense real estate market has created many more well-funded opportunities for that excellence to be realized,” said the Chamber’s Director of Real Estate & Development Cheryl Gladstone. “Each in their own way, our honorees Andrew Kimball and Joshua Muss have paved the way for many of these opportunities.
