Phenoms Rule At Solas!

The Phenomenal Women Group & Associates’ events rundown, featuring recap of The PW Women’s History solidarity appeal — Michelle Mitchell, Founder of The Phenomenal Women Group, hijacked the deejay booth so we could have it "our way!"

The Phenomenal Women Group called for solidarity for Women’s History Month and the Sisterhood represented big time.  The Phenomenal Women’s Celebration for Women’s History Month at Solas turned out to be a collective effort of various Sister Groups and as a result, was a great success!  The event was a collaborative initiative of The Phenomenal Women Group, Girlfriends Get-Together, Social Butterfly Promotions, Sistahs In Unity, The Black Star News, Blackprofessionalevents .com, Coco Expressions, Renee Cook, co-owner of Hector’s Restaurant and Bakery, The Kosher Soul Gourmet and SOLAS!

It was an exhilarating experience as Sisters came together to celebrate womanhood and great achievements, working together to uplift each other and humanity.

Honorees for the evening included Nettie Paisley, Chairperson of the Life & Ethics Committee for the Brooklyn Society for Ethical Culture, whose mantra is “It Takes A Village To Raise A Child and PR Guru, Terrie Williams, Founder and Operator of The Stay Strong Foundation – a support program for youth.

Brenda Jeanne Wyche, Director of PR for The Phenomenal Women Group MC’d for the evening, keeping the guests entertained with her zany, upbeat personality.  Bettina Lee of Girlfriends Get-Together was the perfect host, shining warmth and light on each guest as they arrived with her beautiful smile and trendy Misshattan flair.  Bettina is an amazing event organizer and host.  One of the highlights of the evening was Malinda Tyson of Social Butterfly Promotions who engaged the Sisters in a lesson on “The Chicago Gangsta Slide,’ which brought out the Warrior Princess in Michelle Mitchell, Founder of The Phenomenal Women Group, who decided to have the music “their way, and hijacked the deejay booth!  Everyone enjoyed delicious Solas buffalo wings and savory sauces, complements of The Phenomenal Women Group, Renee Cook of Hector’s Restaurant donated a beautifully decorated two-tier layer cake, adorned with delicious white icing and metallic silver pearlettes.  Refreshing cocktails, of course, added luster to the evening .  Our friends at Solas; Sam, the Man(ager), Deejays, Dave and Rye and the entire Solas staff, really went out of their way to extend their hospitality.  They were all great sports and the ladies appreciated being served by an all male staff in honor of Women’s History Month.

For everyone who did not attend, you missed a good one.  But no worries – The Phenomenal Women Group and their Associates are making it happen on the regular, with a plethora of fabulous gatherings offering an infinite variety of scrumptous flavors.  Here are some of the upcoming spectaculars that The Phenomenal Women Group are coming together to support .  Others will be announced as they unfold:

Two years ago, I started these gatherings in New York City. After a long hiatus, and with the poking and prodding of several girlfriends, I have started the gatherings again, even expanding to the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. NO this is not a time for ‘Men Bashing’ and NO this is not the time to fuss and moan. We are here to uplift, network, laugh, bond, and meet new girlfriends. Sometimes you want to go somewhere or do something that you might not do with your regular group of girls. Here we provide you with a great opportunity to live outside of your box. Therefore, you are invited to…
