DC 37's Henry Garrido Congratulates Winning Candidates

-A +A

Henry Garrido

Last night was a great night for DC 37’s slate of endorsed candidates and for the communities that they will serve.

I congratulate Michael McMahon for being elected the next District Attorney of Staten Island, Pamela Harris for being the first African-American elected to represent the 46th Assembly District, Alicia Hyndman for also winning a seat in the State Assembly, Roxanne Persaud for her election to the State Senate and Barry Grodenchik for being elected to the City Council.

These are the kind of leaders that our labor movement and communities need. That is why our union had hundreds of activists pounding the pavement getting our members to the polls, and making hundreds of phone calls in support of these well qualified candidates. We look forward to working with them to make a better New York for all.

Henry Garrido is the Executive Director, DC37. District Council 37 is New York City’s largest public employee union, with 121,000 members and 50,000 retirees.
