John Edwards Drops Out

In a surprise development Democratic party contender John Edwards is planning to announce that he is pulling out of the presidential primaries, The Black Star News has learned.


Edwards is the candidate that has been most focused on advocating for policies to attack poverty in the United States, with his populist theme, throughout the campaign.
Edwards has not won a primary but has garnered delegates. He has faced increasing challenges in raising funds.

It’s unclear which candidate Edwards would support, although The Black Star has learned that he has been leaning towards Obama. Some analysts believe that Edwards’s campaign has aided senator Barack Obama by pulling some of the white votes away from Senator Clinton.


Others believe that Obama would win those votes anyway since Edwards’ supporters have consistently chosen to vote for someone other than Clinton.

Edwards was senator John Kerry’s vice presidential running mate. The pair lost to Bush in a very close election.
