Libya: President Obama False Massiah?

[Letter To Editor: Libya]

President Barack Obama has failed the African continent for the first
time. With his previous good statements, Americans saw Obama as a
Messiah but today he has showed his true heart.

The way the United States and the United Nations Security Council have handled Libya in the last five days is like wanting to kill a mosquito with gun. More than five super power countries have lifted weapons to attack a small African country with a population of less than seven million.

One of the objectives of these powers is to test the effectiveness of their weapons. How can you use sophisticated technological Tomahawk missiles that explodes and affects everyone in an enclosed city? It's ridiculous and stupid. There have already been reported deaths of millions and surely more can be expected.

Today ordinary Libyans in the areas under super power attacks are worried for their dear lives. Even the presidential palaces are under attack by the U.S. and UN. Libya has the largest known reserves of oil in Africa. Is control of Libya's oil the true motive?

The U.S. is talking about handing over command to NATO-- U.S. must stop acting as if it is not party to this war they created. Obama and his Administration must order an end to the operations. The world wonders about the cruelty and lack of good decision making by the U.S.

Africa for Africans. Let the African Union take the leading role in resolving this crisis.
