Looking For New Year’s Prayers? Join Us At UPC Church

Community residents are welcome and encouraged to bring in a brief letter that states the stuff they want to get rid of, releasing it in the burning bowl. Afterwards, they can affirm in a new “Letter to God” the good they desire and want.

[Season’s Greetings]

United Palace Cathedral (UPC) will usher in the New Years with a Community New Year’s Eve Burning Bowl and Candle Lighting Service, Monday, December 31, at 6:00 pm, 4140 Broadway at 175th Street, NYC.

The service is one of UPCs highlights of the year, and all who wish to participate are invited to join UPC in this holy celebration.

Community residents are welcome and encouraged to bring in a brief letter that states the stuff they want to get rid of, releasing it in the burning bowl.  Afterwards, they can affirm in a new “Letter to God” the good they desire and want.

“In this experience, participants will take steps to obliterate everything that they do not want to carry into the New Year and prepare themselves to embrace the good that will be theirs in 2013,” says Pastor Jack. L. Bomar. “Each service and activity at United Palace Cathedral is planned for the purpose of helping all who are ready and willing to discover and acknowledge the presence of God within themselves, and receive God’s mercy and love.”
