Hip Hop legend, MC Lyte will appear on BlogTalkRadio’s “The Phenomenal Women Show,” with host, Michelle Mitchell on Tuesday, June 10th, 2008 at 9:00 pm EST. The Grammy nominee and VH1 Hip Hop Honors honoree, best known for her debut hit single, "I Cram to Understand U (Sam)", and the No. 1 track, [I Need A} “Ruffneck,” will share insight on her tackling of the prevailing sexist issues against women in the Hip Hop arena and how through her groundbreaking lyricism, she created a portal for women to enter the world of Hip Hop with less barriers.  Such A-listers as Queen Latifah and Missy Elliott have since gained stardom pursuant to those feats.

The multi-talented diva has been featured on prime time television in, "In Living Color," "In The House," "New York Under Cover," "The District," and most recently, CW11's "My Wife and Kids" and Ky, the hard-nosed record label executive on UPN 9's "Half & Half."

Everyone is invited to call in to the show to talk with the star, ask questions and engage in stimulating conversation by dialing (646) 595-3999.  Listeners may also participate through BlogTalkRadio’s online ChatLine, also accessible via .  Questions and comments will be chosen and retrieved from the ChatLine by Host Mitchell and read on the air to be responded to in real time.

“It is truly an honor to have MC Lyte share this exclusive interview with us. As an organization of empowerment and support for women, The Phenomenal Women Group will certainly benefit from what she has to share, and we encourage everyone to call in and show your love for a Sister who has done wonders to help level the playing field for us all,” said Michelle Mitchell, host of the show.

The Phenomenal Women Group is a support group for women whose mission is “To  create a united front of women that will be a strong force to support, guide, mentor, protect, advocate for and empower one another for the purpose of restoring respect and reverence of women's worth and taking back our children and youth, through the implementation of innovative programs that will promote education, tolerance and peace; ultimately enhancing the quality of life for all people.”
