The Adult and Continuing Education (ACE) Program at Medgar Evers College, CUNY will host a summer Open House on May 12, 2010.

The Open House will provide community residents with information about summer courses and certificate programs that will enable them to advance themselves personally and professionally.

"Open House is a great way to jump-start your summer and get a great deal at the same time," said ACE Director Jonathan Bissell. "Individuals who register for classes at the open house will receive 10% off tuition. Summer offerings include Starting & Running a Non-Profit, Corporate Sponsorship, Super Accelerated CASAC, Business Writing for Office Professionals, Spanish and Arabic, Acting and the Business of Acting, Children's Summer Enrichment program, Web and Graphic Design, Bookkeeping & Accounting, an Entrepreneurship Clinic, and more."

As part of the School of Professional and Community Development, ACE offers certificate programs, classes and seminars to working professionals, those who are new or seeking to rejoin the workforce, and those simply looking for personal enrichment opportunities.

The Open House will be held on Wednesday, May 12 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at 1534 Bedford Avenue, 2nd Floor, on the corner of Bedford Avenue and Eastern Parkway, above Chase Bank. Students will receive a 10% discount on all summer 2010 classes when they register (pay tuition) at the Open House, and all registrants will automatically be entered in a drawing to win a free class. Accepted forms of payment at the Open House include credit and debit cards.

Cash payments will only be accepted at the Bursar's Office. Personal checks will not be accepted.

Medgar Evers College was founded in 1970 through the efforts from educators and community leaders in central Brooklyn. The College is named after Medgar Wiley Evers, a Mississippi-born black civil rights activist who was assassinated on June 12, 1963.
