Rodney King, Victim of Brutal 1991 LAPD Beating, Dead

[Breaking News] 

Rodney
King, who was the victim of the ugly brutal beating by officers in the
Los Angeles Police Department in 1991 was reportedly found dead by his
fiancee today.


King was 47 years old. He was found dead at home. The
cause of death was not reported. He was reportedly found at the bottom
of a swimming pool at his home near Los Angeles. 


King's beating by the
LAPD officers while conducting a 1991 DUI traffic stop that eventually
led to the 1992 Los Angeles riots. His vicious beating was videotaped by
a bystander from a distance.


The video footage showed he was struck 56 times. The
officers' acquittal led to bloody riots in Los Angeles in April 1992
leading to 53 deaths, more than 2,000 injuries and $1 billion in
damages.
