"The Defeat of Barack Hussein Obama": Jeremiah Wright Ads Show Romney's Not Ready for Prime time

Panicky Candidate Sees Gutter Campaign as Path to White House?

Once again Mitt Romney has failed the presidential test.

Romney was asked yesterday about a proposed multi-million dollars
racist attack ad against Barack Obama by the owner of the Chicago Cubs and founder of TD Ameritrade Joe Ricketts, he walked away from
reporters and claimed he hadn't yet read the newspapers so was
unfamiliar with the topic.

He didn't denounce it at first because he feared alienating Tea-Party type and Right Wing Republicans who may approve of the approach.

Romney must have known about
the plans by a Republican Super PAC to spend as much as $10 million on that racist campaign. According to most Right Wing media:
Reverend Jeremiah Wright is an alleged America-hater and even blamed
the United States for the 9/11 attacks. So,  since President Obama attended
Wright's church for decades when he lived in Chicago, he too must therefore be an America-hater
and he too must blame the 9/11 attacks on the United States.

this was the perverted message that the Super PAC wanted to spend $10 million on. The campaign was to be called "The Defeat of Barack Hussein Obama."

Realizing that there would be negative reaction to the clearly racist attacks, the campaign's organizers planned to hire
an “extremely literate conservative African-American” who could argue
publicly that President Obama tricked the nation by presenting himself
as a “metrosexual, black Abe Lincoln."

How racist can you get? Insulting the intelligence of both Black folk and White folk and most Americans.

was only after the overwhelming pushback against the proposed ads erupted yesterday
on social media that candidate Romney initially issued a lukewarm response,
mildly critical of the proposed campaign, on a radio show.  As
ordinary Americans continued to denounce the proposed campaign on social
media throughout the day, Romney's advisors probably told him he needed
to say more. At a press conference he then made it clear that he was
repudiating the proposed campaign. By that time, even the Chicago Cubs
owner, the billionaire Ricketts who had considered financing the campaign, was
running now away from the proposal as was Fred Davis, who heads Strategic
Perception, the agency responsible for the idea.

Joe's own son, Tom
Ricketts, who manages the Chicago Cubs issued a
statement declaring, “I repudiate any return to racially divisive issues
in this year’s presidential campaign or in any setting — like my father
has. My focus is on one of the great American pastimes, baseball.” The
team is negotiating for government financing of $300 million to renovate
its stadium; that could be one good incentive to repudiate racism once
its exposed as in this case.

Romney himself has played the Jeremiah Wright card in the past. Need he be reminded that many Americans believe Mormonism to be a cult? It's a dangerous game he should not want to get into.

As Vice President Joe Biden put it: the nation
doesn't want to go back to the 1920s. This was once again an opportunity
for Romney to show that he had strong presidential leadership qualities by
immediately denouncing the proposed racist campaign.

Turns out Romney is actually ready to do anything it takes to become president. He
only distanced himself from the proposed racist ad campaign after it
was exposed in a New York Times article.

How many more similar campaigns are in the work that Romney knows about that haven't yet been revealed?
