Ugandans Reach Final

-A +A

Uganda’s junior soccer players, the Kampala Kids League (KKL), have continued their inspiring run, beating a highly-rated Dutch team, Randers, 4-2 encounter, to reach the final of the prestigious summer tournament in Denmark.

Celebrations erupted all the way in Kampala, Uganda's capital.

Ibrahim Saddam Juma scored a hat-trick. Juma found the net in the 12th, 22nd and in the 35th minutes respectively. Michael Mutyaba scored KKL’s fourth goal 14 minutes after recess.

Randers’ Michael Skyum found the net in the 70th minute with a beautiful header. Rasmus Lynghlom scored the second with 2 minutes to play.

The final will be played at the Århus main Stadium on Saturday, July 28 at 18:00 hrs.

Earlier today the soccer team came from a goal down to snatch a sweet win that propelled them to the Semis, beating Veijle by 3-2 in a highly billed game here in Denmark.

Supporters from Denmark and a very large group of Asian-origin Ugandans from the UK were behind the Ugandan talented side and many had staked in favour of the KKL. In the entire Århus City, the advertising billboards had only KKL team; meaning that, the Stanbic, Brussels Airline, Nike and Spanish side Barcelona had value for sponsoring the unprivileged children.
