Demonstrators will assemble at the Corner of 3rd Av. and 47th St. at 3PM. The protest will then move to 1st. Av. and 47th st. in Manhattan by the UN.

The demonstration is aimed at raising international awareness of the dire situation in Uganda which is characterized by extra-judicial killings and genocide, routine human rights abuse, illegal detentions in so-called "safe houses," lack of personal and press freedom, land grabbing, a dysfunctional political system, past rigged elections, a constitution that is routinely ignored by the regime that enacted it, massive corruption at all levels of government, and sectarianism.
