Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce and Shericka Jackson were conferred with Jamaican national honors for their sporting achievements

KINGSTON, Jamaica – World champions Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce and Shericka Jackson were conferred with Jamaican national honors for their sporting achievements on National Heroes Day.

Fraser-Pryce, 35, was conferred with the Order of Jamaica, Commander Class for Outstanding Performance in the field of athletics at the international level, at the National Honours and Awards on the lawns of King’s House in Kingston, on Monday.

Jackson, meantime, was conferred with the Order of Distinction, Commander Class for exceptional achievements in the sport of Track and Field Athletics at the national, World Championships and Olympic levels.

The decorated Fraser-Pryce recently stormed to a historic fifth 100m title at the 2022 World Athletics Championships in Eugene, Oregon.

She is also the first woman in history to run below 10.7 seconds seven times during any one season.
