Louisiana Rep. Cedric Richmond told Attorney General Bill Barr to keep the good name of John Lewis out of his lying mouth.

Several Democrats are denouncing Trump’s lackey Attorney General Bill Barr for invoking the name of Civil Rights icon John Lewis during his opening statement before Congress’ House Judiciary Committee on Tuesday.

During his opening statement, Barr said, “on behalf of the Department of Justice, I want to pay my respects to your colleague John Lewis, an indomitable champion of civil rights and the rule of law.” Barr also spoke of Lewis’ “unwavering commitment to nonviolence.”

Louisiana Congressman Cedric Richmond and California Senator Kamala Harris were having none of this.

California Senator Kamala Harris blasted Barr for his hypocritical use of Lewis’ name.

Harris tweeted: “Bill Barr hasn’t lifted a finger as Attorney General to protect voting rights in America. He has no business speaking John Lewis’s name.”

Rep. Cedric Richmond, who is on the Judiciary Committee, rebuke Barr for uttering Lewis’ name.

“The one thing that you have in common with you are two predecessors, both Attorney General Sessions and Attorney General Whitaker, is that when you all came here and brought your top staff, you brought no Black people…That, sir, is systematic racism. That is exactly what John Lewis spent his life fighting.”

Richmond then told Barr to keep the good name of John Lewis out of his mouth.

“I would just suggest that actions speak louder than words and you really should keep the name of the honorable John Lewis out of the Justice Department’s mouth.”
