Citizen Action Endorses Comptroller Scott Stringer for NYC Mayor

Citizen Action of New York today endorsed Comptroller Scott Stringer for Mayor of New York City.

New York, NY – Leading progressive grassroots organization Citizen Action of New York today endorsed Comptroller Scott Stringer for Mayor of New York City. Citizen Action praised Stringer’s record of fighting for progressive change for New Yorkers and his bold vision for a just COVID recovery.

“Scott Stringer is a true public servant who has spent over twenty years fighting for everyday New Yorkers,” said Jason Salmon, New York City Regional Director of Citizen Action of New York. “We are proud to stand with a proven progressive who will deliver a just recovery from COVID, build a new generation of deeply affordable housing, use the power of the Mayor’s office to redefine public safety and truly invest in Black and brown communities.”

“I’m running for mayor to make our city more fair, more just, and more equitable, and I’m proud to have a great partner in Citizen Action,” said Comptroller Scott Stringer. “This is an organization that works to lift up New Yorkers on the ground every day, and they do great work — but we have so much more to do. We need affordable housing in every neighborhood, a small business recovery, and a Green New Deal for New York City. To deliver economic justice and racial justice requires vision, experience, and detailed plans that level the playing field. That’s what my campaign is all about, and working hand-in-hand with Citizen Action, I know we’ll build a city for everyone.”
