THE BRONX – Today, NY Assembly Member Danny O’Donnell announced his endorsement of NY Assemblywoman Nathalia Fernández.

“In the Assembly, I have worked closely with Nathalia to pass robust, progressive policies to better the lives of all New Yorkers – from addressing climate change by leading the charge on the Climate Leadership and Protection Act of 2019 to strengthening LGBTQ+ protections by ending the ‘Gay-Trans Panic’ Defense. It is time for strong female leadership in our city, and Nathalia is the progressive leader that The Bronx needs. I am proud to endorse Nathalia’s historic campaign for Borough President. I know she is the right person to lead the borough’s recovery and begin its next chapter,” said Assembly Member Danny O’Donnell.

“Danny has been a trailblazer in fighting for the LGBTQ+ community, criminal justice reform and a fierce advocate for environmental protections. His work ensuring voting right for parolees and clean air and water for all New Yorkers has been an inspiration to me. I am honored to have his support and look forward to continuing our work together for a better Bronx and City,” said Assemblywoman Nathalia Fernández.

This support follows the recent endorsement from TWU Local 100. Assemblywoman Fernández has also been endorsed by State Senator Julia Salazar (SD-18), Assemblywoman Catalina Cruz (AD-39), Assemblyman Michael Blake (AD-79), Assemblywoman Chantel Jackson (AD-79), Assemblyman Kenny Burgos (AD-85), Assemblywoman Deborah Glick (AD-66), NYIC Action, NASW PACE, and the Latino Victory Fund.

If elected, Nathalia would be the first woman elected Bronx Borough President, and the first Latina to hold borough-wide office in New York City history.
