The Martin Luther King March For Voting Rights will be held on Saturday, January 15, 2022, 12:00 noon beginning at the Lincoln Statue, 12 Springfield Avenue, in Newark, NJ.
The march is being called by the People’s Organization For Progress.
The Lincoln statue is located at the intersection of Springfield Avenue and West Market Street in downtown Newark.
“Voting rights are under attack. The right to vote is a cornerstone of democracy. This effort to suppress the ability of citizens to fully exercise their voting rights must not go unchallenged. We ask everyone to stand up for voting rights and march with us on Dr. King’s birthday,” stated Lawrence Hamm, Chairman, People’s Organization For Progress.
Those who plan to attend the march are asked to wear masks and practice social distancing.
