On Tuesday, Texas Congressman Al Green released the following statement as Texas’ first day of early voting began with long lines, and wait times, across the state:

“In the initial hours of the first day of early voting, I received several phone calls from my constituents about long lines at polling locations,” said Congressman Al Green.

“It is our duty to assure eligible voters they can cast their ballots without undue delay. In the spirit of one time-honored refrain of the Civil Rights Movement, we can’t let any adverse occurrences turn us around. Keep on marching. Keep on voting. We cannot stop now.”
