Sunday morning, at the Pulse Nightclub in Orlando, FL, more than 50 people died in yet another senseless mass shooting.

With heavy hearts, the 450,000 healthcare workers of 1199SEIU stand with the victims, their families and all the people of Orlando during this time of tragedy.

We will will do everything in our power to help shoulder Orlando’s burden of grief. Our caregivers throughout the area stand ready to provide the highest levels of skilled, dedicated care to the victims of the Pulse massacre and support all of those affected by these events.

All of 1199SEIU joins with our sisters and brothers in the LGBTQ community – in Florida and across the nation – in condemning the hatred that breeds this violence; our union is founded on the principle that there is no place for bigotry or intolerance in our society. An injury to one is an injury to all.

1199SEIU United Healthcare Workers East is the largest and fastest-growing healthcare union in America. We represent over 400,000 nurses and caregivers throughout Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey, Maryland, Washington, D.C. and Florida. Our mission is to achieve quality care and good jobs for all.
