Killer-Cop Garrett Rolfe has been charged with felony murder for ending Rayshard Brooks’ life last weekend.

On Wednesday, Fulton County District Attorney Paul Howard issued warrants for the arrest of former Atlanta police officer Garrett Rolfe and officer Devin Brosnan for the murder of Rayshard Brooks.

The charges stem from the weekend police killing of the 27-year-old father of three, found sleeping in a car in the drive-thru of a southwest Atlanta Wendy’s.

Officer Rolfe has been charged with 11 charges–including one charge of felony murder aggravated assault, criminal damage to property and violations to his oath of office. According to DA Howard, Rolfe could face a maximum sentence of life–or the death penalty.

Officer Devin Brosnan is being charged with aggravated assault and two violations of oath of office. Howard said Brosnan has decided to become a state witness and testify against Officer Rolfe.

Howard also made this stunning statement about the conduct of officer Rolfe and officer Brosnan after Brooks was shot:

“Officer Rolfe actually kicked Mr. Brooks as he laid on the ground, while he was there fighting for his life. Officer Brosnan actually stood on Mr. Brooks’s shoulder.”

According to Howard, “At the time the first shot was fired, the utterance made by Officer Rolfe was ‘I got him,” and proceeded to kick the dying Brooks. Howard says he has recommended Rolfe get no bail. Brosnan bail is set at $50,000.

Regarding the claim that Brooks was drunk, Howard said: “Even though Mr. Brooks was slightly impaired, his demeanor during this incident was almost jovial. For 41 minutes and 17 seconds he followed every instruction, he answered the questions. Mr. Brooks never displayed any aggressive behavior during the 41 minutes and 17 seconds.”

Howard said his office interviewed 10 witnesses to the killing and watch eight recorded videos of the incident.
