Authorities have yet to name the victim of a fatal police shooting Wednesday evening in Minneapolis, but the father of the man has identified him as 23-year-old Dolal Idd of Eden Prairie, Minn.
Bayle Gelle told reporters Thursday near the site of the shooting — a Holiday gas station on the city’s south side — that his son had been shot and killed, and that he was waiting for more details about what happened.
It was the first killing by Minneapolis police since George Floyd’s death on May 25, less than a mile away.
“We need justice,” Gelle said.
