Darren Wilson Is Named As Officer Who Killed Michael Brown

The Ferguson, MO., Police Department Chief Thomas Jackson has identified Darren Wilson as the officer who killed Michael Brown on August 9.

He said the officer was a 6 year veteran of the of force and had no prior record of incidents.

Jackson said Wilson had earlier responded to a call about a robbery before encountering Brown later.

Jackson did not take any questions or clarify whether he meant to say Wilson had believed Brown was a suspect in the robbery.

Without elaboration the reference to the robbery seemed calculated to impugn the dead teenager's character.
