The lawyers for former Michigan Governor Rick Snyder have filed a motion to dismiss the recent charges that have been brought against him in the continuing fallout of the Flint water crisis.

Snyder was charged with willful neglect of duty by the Michigan attorney general’s office in connection with alleged criminal in connection with Flint’s lead tainted tap water.

Snyder’s lawyers are arguing that the Genessee County judge has no jurisdiction over the alleged acts against the former governor.

Meanwhile, Flint residents took to the streets to protest the two misdemeanor charges that Snyder faces.

One protester, Gertrude Sanders, said: “Here we have a man and his administration, come through a city, take all of it’s assets, poison the people, make the people pay for their poison and then say he was just a governor that made a mistake, hell no.”
