The Lincoln Project Monday released a new ad reminding Americans that although the country is better off than it was just three short months ago, there is still much work to be done–especially as Republican lawmakers, across the country, are busy pushing voter suppression.

The 60 second spot, “Why We Fight,” evokes Ted Cruz, Mitch McConnell, and Donald Trump while warning viewers Republican legislators around the country are drafting and passing legislation aimed at suppressing Americans’ right to vote. They know they can no longer compete in the marketplace of ideas.

“Since Donald Trump left office, America is beginning to heal. But the fight against Trumpism: Authoritarian instincts, disenfranchisement of voters and propagation of Big Lies is far from over. The Lincoln Project will continue the battle against these forces and on behalf of American democracy, now and into the future,” said Fred Wellman, executive director of The Lincoln Project. “Vigilance is the only way to protect our country and our democracy.”

The ad can be viewed here.

The Lincoln Project is a group of former Republicans who worked to defeat Donald J. Trump and will continue to fight on behalf of American democracy.
