Recent killings of African-American youth in the District of Columbia have shocked residents who want relief from the problem. Over a dozen community groups and family members will be in attendance to speak out against:

1).  The most recent local fatal tragedy involving a Black youth,17-year-old Ballou High School Special Needs student Joevon Patterson-Smith who died on January 30, 2018, after he was ambushed and assaulted several weeks prior by four suspects over his cellphone.

2). 16-year-old Taiyania Thompson was fatally shot in the head near Gallaudet University allegedly by her 18-year-old boyfriend, Dekale Bowman on January 25, 2018.

3).  A 12-year-old SEED D.C. student was found dead in her dorm room, allegedly a victim of bullying.

Black men from community organizations will engage Ballou High School males, and students, to direct intervention counseling to convince them to stop the killing and the violence. This is the beginning of a continuous effort because these recent tragedies and others have caused community activists to turn in a radically different direction.

Organizers of the 10,000 Black Men’s March are saying they are fed-up and intend to organize 10,000 men and community members to police themselves better and take other serious, unprecedented proactive measures to solve the problem. Full details of the plan and other undisclosed information of these horrific killings will be released at the news conference at Ballou High School.

“Our young people killing each other has long ago become intolerable. Self-destruction in our community is paving the way for gentrification and Black population removal.  We are now calling on and training and organizing 10,0000  grown men in the community to stand like men and get a handle on our children and stop this nightmare once and for all” – 10,000 Black Men’s March Organizers

The 10,000 BLACK MEN’S MARCH is set to take place Saturday, April 21, 2018, at the BIG CHAIR in SE Washington, D.C. The March’s theme is “SAVE OUR SONS: STOP THE KILLING” This will be the largest anti-violence effort in the history of the Nation’s Capital and it will take place directly in the killing zone.

The National Black Men’s Convention is set for April 17-22, 2018 in SE D.C. at Shiloh Baptist Church in Washington, DC – 1500 P Street NW. Self-genocide is a major plank of the convention. www.blackmensmovement.org We are serious. Very serious.
