A Milwaukee, Wisconsin man faces first-degree intentional homicide charges for killing an immigration attorney in what is now believed to be self-defense.
Theodore Edgecomb was preparing for daddy daughter date night on September 22, 2020, when he was nearly run over and allegedly accosted verbally by Jason Cleereman and his wife.
During a virtual hearing Wednesday, Judge Borowski ruled that the existing $250,000 bond would stand and Edgecomb would remain in custody pending trial, which has now been moved to January 18th.
While all accounts about the incident have painted a picture of Edgecomb as the aggressor at all times, a video released to the public shows the Cleereman’s vehicle speeding behind Edgecomb, pursuing him, and eventually Jason Cleereman gets out of the car and continues to chase Edgecomb.
As new court filings become available in this case, we now know that a former Milwaukee homicide investigator will testify as to the use of force and standards in conducting homicide investigations related to police protocols, processes, and procedures. This expert will offer opinions regarding whether such standards were appropriately followed in this case.
