[Racial Policing\"Day of Outrage" Rallies]
The family of Atatiana Jefferson said the following about the Day of Outrage, "Our family is mourning over the tragic and untimely murder of Atatiana by Aaron Dean former Fort Worth police officer. Although Dean, has been arrested and charged, he is back on the streets and we are uncertain justice will prevail. We demand full transparency and accountability. It is our sincere hope that Atatiana’s story will not be forgotten, and our pursuit of dignity prevents the likelihood of similar events of police abuse. Please show up for the Day of Outrage wherever you are. Keep our loved one’s name alive!"

On, Monday Oct. 28th the UNTIL FREEDOM Organization will hold major rallies across America to protest the police murder of Atatiana Jefferson.

UNTIL FREEDOM, founded by Tamika D. Mallory, Linda Sarsour, Mysonne Linen and Angelo Pinto will lead a national day of action next Monday, October 28th in fifteen cities across the United States to honor the life of Atatiana Jefferson, a young Black woman in Fort Worth, Texas, who was just 28-years-old when she was murdered by former Fort Worth Police officer Aaron Dean in her own home.

At approximately 5:30 PM ET, people across the country will stand in solidarity and demand justice for Atatiana and all Black women whose lives have been taken due to police abuse. Everyone is being asked to WEAR BLACK on Monday as a sign of unity.

In New York City, Until Freedom’s Co-Founders will lead the rally at Foley Square in partnership with Arc of Justice, Justice League NYC and other leading activists, advocates, elected officials, faith and community leaders, artists and more.

It is absolutely outrageous to consider that less than one week after Officer Amber Guyger was found guilty of murdering Botham Jean in his home in Dallas, that another Texas police officer could fire with impunity into the home of another innocent Black person,” says Tamika D. Mallory, adding “We demand answers, but more importantly, we demand change. We will not allow Black people to continue to be preyed upon by those committed to protecting and serving them."

The funeral of Atatiana Jefferson was today.

Jefferson, 28, was killed earlier this month, on October 14, by former Officer Aaron Dean. Jefferson was killed by Aaron when he fired a shot through her window--killing her inside her house. Jefferson was killed less than two weeks after former Officer Amber Guyger was sentenced to ten years for killing Botham Jean inside his home--which she mistaken entered thinking it was her house.

Jefferson's family said the following about the upcoming Day of Outrage, "Our family is mourning over the tragic and untimely murder of Atatiana by Aaron Dean former Fort Worth police officer.
