Detective Mike Brown made fun of the death of protester Summer Taylor who was run over by a car.

Washington State Governor Jay Inslee has denounced a police officer who posted a social media meme saying “all lives splatter.”

The meme was posted by the governor's cousin Detective Mike Brown of the King County Sheriff’s Office.

Brown has been suspended for the posting, which showed a vehicle running over people, the read: “all lives splatter get your (expletive) off the road.”

The posting referenced the death of Summer Taylor, 24, who was run over and killed by a car on Interstate 5 when a driver drove around police barricades on July 4. A second protester, Diaz Love, was also injured and remains hospitalized.

The post provoked outrage on social media.

Governor Inslee tweeted his displeasure with his cousin saying, "I'm deeply disappointed and totally reject the language of my cousin Mike Brown who made inflammatory comments about recent protests. The language is unacceptable and just flat wrong, particularly from a law enforcement officer, as we try to heal the divisions of our community."

Brown has been relieved of his duties by Sheriff Mitzi Johanknecht as an investigation into the incident continues.

In a statement, Johanknecht said "Detective Mike Brown is who we put on administrative leave today. I will take swift action to thoroughly investigate when the conduct of Sheriff's Office members fails to reflect our core values and violates Sheriff's Office policy."

An investigation into other officers regarding the post is said to be ongoing.
